what a wicked album this is from New York's natives Yeasayer.... what can i say...its a breath of fresh air and compliments the indie genre perfectly. Its very 80's influenced as most things these days but by no means is it an album thats been done before. 'Ampling Alp' & 'ONE' are my faves on this album as there really dancey in a chilled out kind of way ...almost euphoric kind of sounding in places...this album keeps you on the edge and wondering what delight is coming next.
Its not the best album in the world but its fresh and cool, festivals in the summer will be pumping with the sounds of Yeasayer this year i promise you that!
As i mensioned above not the best album ever made, i feel it could have been a little more consistant...it kind of dies off after track 7 'Rome'.... tracks 8,9 & 10 just dont live up to the heights of the start of the album and it fizzles unfortunately to an early death which is a real shame. Im sure they will be back with a follow up to this which should be a little more balanced..
