Foals – Total Life Forever (8/10)

Foals are back with a refreshing album that excited me just like their debut. In many ways similar, the album packs even more boastfulness and changling riffs than ever before. Rhythmically perfect Foals express their solidarity from start to finish on this dazzling album.

Top tracks are most certainly the opener “Blue Blood” and “Total Life Forever” these are what I would describe as Foals at their best, very predictable in terms of what we have come to expect from the band that’s for sure, but there’s no denying its genius. No one can take this away from these guys. The drums and bass fit together like they are one instrument with the delicate guitars chipping away on the surface.

It’s definitely worth a purchase if you haven’t done so already. The question of the band yet to answer is...... will their next album be the same? if so, does the sound get tiring after a while? Most certainly not for me, but will the masses see these lads as one trick pony's?

I love it and im sure most people will, a quality summer album sure to echoe from festival to festival.

The Exhibition - The Crown/Coma (8.5/10)

Barnsley Natives ‘the exhibition’ certainly pack a punch that cannot go unnoticed with this entrancing double ‘A’ side Single release (OF NATIONAL IMPORTANCE RECORDS).

“The Crown” kicks off with a sinister chilling intro which makes you ponder what journey this single will take you on. The track builds and builds with cut throat edge on lead guitar and thudding bass..... all wrapped together with swagger in the vocals. Almost perfect dynamics make this track weave in and out from start to finish with immense maturity regarding the structure and direction. Top track!!

“Coma” is a beautifully put together piece of work which seriously excites for many reasons..... Kicking off it’s stripped to the bones with a simplistic yet full sound; this dazzles and keeps you in close. The Vocals calmly enter spilling out the story that Pete Dand utters in such an accomplished manor. When reviewing new bands and there outputs it’s easy to criticize find faults and nominate comparisons......... The Exhibition has got me on this one!

It’s fresh yet mature and leaves your mouth watering for more.... i cant help that think that an album, given time and effort would be spectacular....
